The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is a national advocacy organization that works to advance the collective aspirations of First Nations individuals and communities across Canada on matters of national or international nature and concern. All First Nations in Canada have the right to be Members of the Assembly of First Nations.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading the AFN organization including strategic planning, operations, and oversight and management of human and financial resources (including risk management). The CEO directs the organization’s daily activities to achieve the goals, objectives, and mandate of the AFN while maintaining the vision of the organization through lobbying, advocacy, and providing support for First Nations issues.
