CANADIAN COUNCIL ON ANIMAL CARE – DIRECTOR OF STANDARDS

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is the national peer-review organization responsible for setting, maintaining, and overseeing the implementation of high standards for animal ethics and care in science throughout Canada.

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and lead a team that develops relevant tools (guidelines, policies, and best practice documents) to achieve constant improvement in the welfare of animals used in Canadian science. The position supports research to develop a knowledge base that can be used with other inputs to reach a CCAC position on issues concerning the use of animals in science. Through this, the position is responsible for establishing both the national and international credibility of the CCAC.
