Cheam First Nation is a self-governing community that is a part of the greater Stó:lō community. Cheam Enterprises Inc. (CEI) is a community-owned entity aimed at participating in the local mainstream economy within Cheam’s traditional territory and beyond. CEI actively works to achieve community-driven economic development and growth for the betterment of all Cheam people, for generations to come. With projects in waste management, tourism, and a newly created land development project, CEI looks forward to a prosperous future of continued growth.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) reports to the Cheam Enterprises (CEI) Board of Directors and is accountable for the day-to-day management of CEI in accordance with its Governance Policy. The CEO will have an opportunity to establish a vision, strategy, and goals in partnership with the CEI Board. The CEO will work with the Board to evaluate, support, execute, and capitalize on economic development opportunities that meet the established vision, mission, and values and in turn satisfy the needs of the Xwchiyò:m. Together, CEI will develop the Cheam economy through identifying possible business opportunities and working with the Nation, the Board, and other potential partners to benefit the community by creating employment to the Xwchiyò:m and by contributing significantly to the economic well-being and prosperity of future generations.
