Reporting to the Mayor and Council, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides professional leadership and direction to the management team of the City of Wetaskiwin. Leading a team of seven (7) direct reports with a total staff complement of over 120, CAO provides overall leadership to all departments, as well as the development of policies and programs for the approval of Council. As the administrative head of the City, the CAO is responsible for the overall operation of the City in accordance with the objectives, plans, programs and policies approved by Council and in accordance with the various Provincial or Federal statutes, the Province of Alberta’s Municipal Government Act, and municipal by-laws. The CAO ensures that the policies, programs, and direction of Council are implemented and advises and informs City Council of the operations and affairs of the City.
