As the financial and fiscal head of the Division, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial accountability framework for The Edmonton Catholic Separate School Division and coordinates and facilitates the delivery of financial services through a team of management, professional and support staff.
The job is responsible for the development, implementation and operation of all fiscal activities of the Division, including procurement and financial information technology systems, and takes a lead role in risk identification and management including preparation and updates of the Division’s risk matrix and annual insurance renewals. The CFO also provides leadership and direction for financial strategies, practices, policies, reporting and corporate planning. The job oversees an annual operating and capital budget more than $560 million and $100 million, respectively and provides sound financial advice and strategic options to meet the complex business challenges of the Division’s leadership team. Key to this role is providing strategic advice, guidance, direction, and feedback on the delivery of services to the Board of Trustees, Chief Superintendent, Superintendents, school administrators and managers. This role provides financial leadership to the Board of Trustees and the Audit and Finance Committee.
The CFO develops, implements, coordinates and facilitates the delivery of all financial activities and services for the Division, including the leadership and direction of all financial strategies, practices, policies, reporting and corporate planning, which enable the Division to meet its business plan objectives and strategies.
