Reporting to the President and Vice Chancellor, the Chief Information Officer (“CIO”) is responsible for ensuring that Emily Carr achieves its goals and objectives in the field of Information Technology. The CIO oversees long term strategic technology planning and implementation based upon the needs of students, staff, and faculty of the University. The CIO assists with identification and implementation of new technology, as well as the enhanced utilization of existing technology, to optimize efficiencies within operations, and advance best practices in the field. The CIO is responsible for the prioritization, execution, reconciliation, and deliverables of major information technology projects and, with other senior leaders, will participate in the technological evaluation of IT projects. The CIO leads and develops a team of ~50 academic IT professionals which collaborates with colleagues to support innovation in the IT services and achieve shared objectives. Reporting to the CIO are the Managers who support the four key areas of the portfolio: Systems + Networks; Clients Services; Collaboration Technologies + Media Resources; and Institutional Research + Applications.
