The RHF is about ideas and people – both of which resist distillation, categorization and boundaries. The leaders and many supporters of the RHF long to make a real difference in Canada and around the world.
It is in this spirit that the RHF has created the Director, Indigenous and Northern Relations position. The purpose of the role will be both to inform the work of the RHF broadly and build and enable relationships to further achieve the organisation’s vision of a better Canada for all peoples.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, this new position provides strategic direction, advice, planning and implementation support across all areas of the Foundation. The Director, Indigenous and Northern Relations will advise the President & CEO as well as the Board of Directors on the Foundation’s role in support of the Crown/Indigenous relationship in Canada in light of the country’s multifaceted democracy. They will provide leadership on Indigenous and northern engagement across all portfolios of activity and ensure the RHF’s work is conducted through the lens of reconciliation. The successful candidate will have proven abilities in building and strengthening strategic partnerships, which will assist in securing traditional and non-traditional funding for Indigenous and other Canadian initiatives, allowing the Foundation to grow and enhance existing and future Indigenous programming and partnerships.
Empowered by commitment from internal departments and leadership, they will position the RHF as a meaningful supporter of Indigenous and Northern initiatives and priorities.
