Great Lakes Pilotage Authority – Chief Executive Officer

 

Under the authority of the Board of Directors and pursuant to the Authority’s strategic orientation and management philosophy, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective piloting services within the geographical limits established within its territory. Main responsibilities are to ensure leadership, development, guidance and control of all of the Authority’s operational activities according to its strategic plan and objectives regarding pilotage and security. The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the Authority’s global performance with respect to all of its operational, financial and human resources activities pursuant to its defined strategic plan and orientation.

The Chief Executive Officer’s mandate is to help the Authority accomplish its mission and follow its orientations by offering its clientele services that meet the highest maritime industry standards with respect to security, service quality, dependability, efficiency, profitability and respect of the environment. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the maritime transportation industry as well as of the industry’s security regulations. S/he will also have extensive commercial experience within a transport-related regulated industry, and be familiar with government agencies and their regulatory framework. The successful candidate will be focused on cost efficiency and earnings growth.
