Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) will be one of the primary advocates for increased investment in Alberta and will lead the agency’s national and international investment attraction efforts. The role is expected to involve regular out-of-province travel, including internationally.
One of the main responsibilities will be to drive increased investment into Alberta’s economy through facilitating and leveraging relationships in the investment and financial communities and helping high impact investors to navigate Alberta’s investment ecosystem. The primary outcome of the IAC will be to see job-creating and sector-growing investment opportunities realized, to the benefit of Albertans. This will be accomplished through facilitating strategic partnerships and enabling the identification and assembly of investment deals including alignment of business and community partners in shaping these opportunities.
The Alberta International Office network, with 12 offices around the world, will also report into the agency. Determining office locations and resource allocation for Alberta’s international presence will be the responsibility of the CEO. It is expected that the agency will be headquartered in Calgary and Edmonton with offices and staff in both locations.
