Metro Vancouver- Project Manager, Major Projects (Water Tunnels)

Reporting to the Director, Major Projects, the Project Manager works as a technical specialist/expert and provides management services for the delivery of a $6B+ program of major multi-disciplinary projects. The Project Manager administers contracts; makes recommendations to senior management on contract awards and amendments; and prepares reports and makes presentations to senior management, political committees and the public. In addition to being accountable for budget preparation, reporting and resource allocations, the Project Manager monitors and controls spending ensuring the effective and efficient expenditure of funds and is responsible for risk management for capital projects, working with legal staff to develop solutions for resolving contractual and environmental issues. The Project Manager also provides advice and guidance to other MV groups on large, complex projects, and is responsible for the hiring, supervision and management of staff.
