Parks Foundation Calgary – Board Governor

Parks Foundation Calgary is looking for a person who has an interest in helping create new parks, improve existing park space and offer important community programs and grants to Calgarians. When our parks thrive, we all benefit, and our city becomes a healthier, more vibrant place to live, connect and succeed.

To be successful in the role the candidate must demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and accountability, be respected by peers, with an outstanding, successful and proven track record in their respective profession.

The successful Governor will be authentic and a strong communicator with the ability to build consensus and promote collaboration and respectful discussion. They will ideally have prior board governance experience on either non-profit, charity, private or public sector boards and committees.

Parks Foundation is looking for a Governor who is engaged, active, deliberate and will work to create a strong positive culture on the Board to support the long-term success of the Foundation. Governor terms are for (2) years and term limits are set at (3) three terms.

Based on the Board’s most recent Skills Matrix review for upcoming Board appointments, preference will be given to candidates demonstrating specific expertise in the  areas of Human Resources or Technology.

In addition to attending quarterly Board Meetings, Governors are also required to participate on other committees and to serve as ambassadors for Parks Foundation in the community.
