Reporting to the Board of Directors, the HQC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) plays a critical leadership role in the Saskatchewan health care system and is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and day-to-day management of the Council’s 43-member team.
The CEO supports the Board in shaping the priorities for the organization and is accountable for leading the successful implementation of HQC’s strategic plan. The CEO forges strong relationships, collaborates effectively with key stakeholders, and applies leading practices in the science of quality improvement to ensure the health system workforce continues to grow in its ability to make and sustain improvements in quality and safety.
HQC works with Saskatchewan health system partners including:
- The Ministry of Health
- Saskatchewan Health Authority
- eHealth Saskatchewan
- Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA)
- Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO)
- Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA)
The CEOs of the partner organizations are part of a senior provincial leadership group that involves the Deputy Minister of Health and the executive team from the Ministry.
HQC is also part of the Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research, one of eleven provincial/territorial units led by the Canadian Institute for Health Research to build provincial and national capacity for patient-oriented research.
