The IT Director, Project Management Office and Client Services (“IT Director”) provides strategic leadership for the Project Management Office (PMO) and Client Services portfolios, and all project implementation activities within the organization. The IT Director is responsible for aligning complex technology initiatives with business objectives and operational needs, ensuring efficient project execution, leading a team of project managers and IT professionals. The IT Director should possess strong leadership skills, extensive project management experience, and advanced understanding of IT systems and change management best practices.
In this new position, the IT Director reports to the Executive Director, Information Technology (‘ED”). The IT Director oversees a total team of ~45 unionized IT employees through two Managers who report directly (~30 in client services and 12+ in the newly created PMO). This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced IT leader to make a significant impact on one of BC’s most dynamic organizations. The IT Director will found and operationalize the District’s new PMO, optimizing project implementation activities for 60+ projects per year, plus overseeing a forthcoming major ERP transformation.
The IT Director will also lead the Client Services Division, which uses the ITIL framework, providing IT support for the District’s 13,000 employees, as well as indirectly supporting the many student and parent accounts. Bringing well-developed strategic abilities, project implementation skills, and change management expertise, the IT Director will continue to build team engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring all of the division’s activities are aligned with the District’s business objectives and operational realities.
