The Alliance of BC Modern Treaty Nations works together to advance and advocate for areas of shared interest relating to the implementation of modern treaties in British Columbia. Membership includes each of the eight Modern Treaty Nations in BC:

Huu-ay-aht First Nations
Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Chek’tles7et’h’ First Nations
Nisg̱a’a Nation
Tla’amin NationToquaht Nation
Toquaht Nation
Tsawwassen First Nation
Uchucklesaht Tribe
Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government

Reporting to the Alliance Management Committee, the Executive Director provides leadership while balancing the distinct rights and interests of the Alliance Members. The Executive Director leads the day-to-day operations of the Alliance of BC Modern Treaty Nations, including providing high-level strategic advice, supporting intergovernmental relations, and various operational duties.

This new role in a growing organization will drive change and extend modern treaty nations’ participation in intergovernmental relations with the Province of British Columbia and neighbouring First Nations. The Executive Director will be integral in developing a new organizational structure that will adapt to the evolving needs of the organization. The role of the Executive Director will be flexible and evolve over time in parallel to this restructuring process. They will be responsible for strategic planning and financial, contract and human resources management while contributing to a positive work environment that supports the Alliance’s vision, mission, and values.
