Unity Health Toronto is one of Canada’s largest Catholic healthcare networks serving patients, residents and clients across the full spectrum of care, spanning primary care, secondary community care, tertiary and quaternary care services to post-acute through rehabilitation, palliative care and long-term care, while investing in world-class research and education.
Unity Health is undertaking a strategic transformation to better support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis patients and staff. This will be achieved in part with a series of new hires focused on Indigenous cultural safety, care pathways, and community relations. The Director, Indigenous Wellness, Reconciliation, and Partnership is the first of this cluster hire and will lead the way for further positive change for Indigenous peoples within Unity Health. Unity Health is committed to ensuring Indigenous involvement in organizational decisions impacting Indigenous peoples – “nothing about us, without us”. For this purpose, Unity Health is launching a new Indigenous Leadership Circle, made up of community members, Elders, Indigenous employees and/or physicians, and senior leadership.
