The Comptroller provides strategic financial direction and leadership to the VP, Finance and Operations (“VPFO”) and UBC Executive to support the attainment of UBC’s academic mission. The Comptroller leads the vision and mission of the University’s financial management, reporting processes, internal control over revenues, financial resources, institutional financial information systems, and the operational and management aspects of the development and implementation of budgets. The Comptroller has accountability for the overall financial health and sustainability of the operating and capital resources of the University. Current annual operating budget of UBC totals $2.8B in revenue with over four million transactions recorded annually. Total institutional assets are over $6B. The Comptroller is responsible for prudently managing the consolidated financial accounting and reporting framework of the University within the distributed decision-making model.
