The Director, Capital Projects provides leadership, guidance, and strategic direction to the Project Office and the annual capital planning process. The Director is responsible for the effective day-to-day functioning of the Project office and for the management and delivery of short and long term capital projects. The position operates autonomously and professionally in all areas of responsibilities, collaborates and consults effectively with administrators, faculty, and staff to accomplish the Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) divisional goals consistent with UFV’s Integrated Strategic Plan (ISP), Strategic Enrollment Plans (SEM) annual budget, and Ministry funding and directives. The Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of major/minor capital renewal and renovation projects, ensuring quality of design and safety, and development of appropriate budgets and timelines, resulting in successful project delivery. The Director is responsible for ensuring projects are welcoming, considerate of universal design and holistically sustainable.
