Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President, Employee Engagement (VP, EE) is a member of the Senior Executive Team (SET) and is jointly accountable for attainment of the strategic goals and operational plans of the organization as approved by the Board and CEO. The VP, EE is accountable for the development of successful HR strategies that are aligned with the overall strategic direction and values of VCH and encourage all staff to embrace a common vision. The VP, EE ensures efficient and customer-focused Employee Engagement service delivery, proactive and sustainable workforce planning, collaborative union /management relations, enhanced people capacity, and a healthy work environment for VCH staff.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a visionary HR leader to develop and implement a strategic vision and plan for Employee Engagement to ensure alignment with the direction and values of VCH and motivate all staff to embrace a common vision.  The new VP, EE, as a member of the Senior Executive Team (SET), will innovate for change and lead proactive people strategies to enable achievement of VCH healthcare and service delivery objectives.

This is an exciting time at VCH. The new VP will spearhead the transformation of VCH’ s culture as it moves to toward a community-based service delivery model; the result will be an ongoing change management exercise that will require an engaged and inspired workforce. To support the changes facing the organization, VCH’s EE function will also move toward a progressive, strategic department that emphasizes organizational development and talent management. The EE Department will shape the structures that will enable the organization to create the workforce of the future. The right VP, EE candidate will have the leadership qualities, deep subject matter expertise, courage, and temperament to lead the creation of an EE function that will enable VCH to thrive sustainably and achieve its critical mandate.
