Wolastoqey Nation in New Brunswick (WNNB) – Nihkanatpat

The Wolastoqey Nation in New Brunswick (WNNB) is a not-for-profit organization that represents the six Wolastoqey Communities in New Brunswick: Matawaskiye (Madawaska), Neqotkuk (Tobique), Pilick (Kingsclear), Sitansisk (Saint Mary’s), Welamukotuk (Oromocto) and Wotstak (Woodstock).

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors (the six Chiefs), Nihkanatpat (Executive Director of WNNB) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of WNNB and the team of passionate, collaborative and highly motivated staff. With a large majority of employees coming from Wolastoqey or other Indigenous communities, Nihkanatpat is responsible for leading the organization in a way that honours the traditions, cultures and values of the WNNB. They will develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with other Indigenous Nations/organizations, NGOs, universities as well as with industry/proponents, federal and provincial governments.
