Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence to advance Calgary Learns' mission to strengthen foundational learning for adults and create pathways to opportunity for adult learners. This is a unique opportunity to lead a respected community organization that helps individuals build the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to participate fully in work, learning, and community life.

Leading a small, skilled, and dedicated team, the ED fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability while empowering staff to do their best work. The ED provides mentorship and clear direction.
As the organization's Chief Executive, the ED works at the intersection of community impact, partnership development, and policy. Collaborating with grant recipients, government representatives, community organizations, funders, and provincial stakeholders, the ED champions adult learning, fosters innovation, and strengthens a network of services that positively transform lives. Through strategic leadership, relationship-building, and advocacy, the ED helps shape the future of adult learning in Calgary and across Alberta while ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of Calgary Learns.
