Reporting to the CAO, the Deputy CAO leads their respective areas (the current total headcount is 59 staff members) and provides highly effective advice and support to the CAO relating to the development and implementation of policies and strategies that address the needs of the City.

The Deputy CAO provides forward thinking leadership, technical expertise and guidance, based on relevant regulations and legislation through a lens of public accountability to guide the organization in delivering the programs and services as identified by Council.

The Deputy CAO brings exceptional leadership, judgement, interpersonal skills, and the proven ability to develop credibility and effective working relationships with elected officials, employees, and other external stakeholders.

When required, the Deputy CAO is designated to act as the CAO in the CAO’s absence.
