Vancouver, BC – October 20, 2020 – Leaders International’s Indigenous practice has achieved Gold-level Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Certification from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) for 2020, making it the only executive search firm in the country with the designation.
The Indigenous practice at Leaders International is led by Laurie Sterritt, a member of the Kispiox Band of the Gitxsan Nation, and an executive search leader with over 25 years’ experience in the fields of Indigenous, government and community relations.
“Through CCAB’s PAR program, these 11 companies have demonstrated their commitment to achieving successful positive relations with the Indigenous community,” said Tabatha Bull, CCAB’s President and CEO.
PAR is a certification program that confirms corporate performance in Aboriginal relations. CCAB member companies in the PAR certification program build a framework that enables them to achieve certification in Aboriginal relations at the bronze, silver, or gold level. Assurance is provided through an independent, third-party verification process of company reports on measurable outcomes and initiatives in four performance areas: Leadership Actions, Employment, Business development, and Community Relationships. These verified reports are then reviewed by an independent jury of Aboriginal business leaders who assign the final certification level.
“I am extremely proud that our Indigenous practice, and the firm, has achieved this important designation once again”, said Sterritt. “We remain committed to progressive improvement in our relationships with Indigenous communities, and in supporting companies and organizations across Canada to meet their reconciliation, diversity and inclusion goals. We look forward to maintaining this designation in the years to come.”
